I am a Burgher living abroad. I cannot tell you how much I value the Sinhala literature. I have read all Martin Wickramasinghe books and still have some of those books on my shelf. In my last trip to Sri Lanka I visited the Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum Complex and it was one of the most enjoyed and satisfying thing I did on my trip. Shame to hear a Sinhala man talking ill of that great author. He was one of the finest writers this world ever had.

ReplyDeleteමම නම් හිතන්නෙ නෑ මේ පුද්ගලයා සුදුසුකම් ලත් ගුරුවරයෙක් කියලා. මේ පුද්ගලයා හරි විදිහට පුහුණුවෙච්ච ගුරුවරයෙක් නම් මාර්ටින් වික්රමසිංහයන් ගැන ඔහොම කතා කරන්නෙ නෑ. මොන විද්යාව ඉගැන්නුවත් මූ වැස්සකට හරි ඉස්කෝලෙකට ගිහින් තියෙනව නම් අඩුම ගානෙ එක වසරෙ ඉදන් සාමාන්ය පෙළ දක්වාවත් ඉගෙන ගෙන තියෙනව නම් මාර්ටින් වික්රමසිංහ ගැන නොදන්න හරි පොතක් කියවලා නැත්නම් කිසිම රස වින්දනයක් නැති අමුම අමු ගොබ්බයෙක්. මේ වගේ ගොබ්බ ගුරුවරු කියාගන්නා එවුන්ගෙන් ඉගෙන ගන්න ළමයින්ට දෙය්යන්ගෙම පිහිටයි. ඕන කුප්ප කතාවක් කියල දැන් සමාවෙන්න කීවම ඔක්කොම හරියනවද කාලකන්නියෝ.

ReplyDeleteමෙවැනි මංමුලාවු දැනුම සහ ප්රකාශනයෙන් දුප්පත් වූ අය ගාවට බස් වියදම් කරගෙන ගිහින් මුදලුත් ගෙවල ඉගෙන ගන්න වුන් මෝඩයෝ කියල ඔහුම කියනව. අධ්යාපන ප්රතිසංස්කරන අවශ්ය මේවගෙ අයගෙන් දරැපරපූර බේරගන්නයි.
